A Typing Experience Built for Kids
Learning to type just got a whole lot more fun! In Kodable Typing, kids embark on a vacation-themed adventure as they build core typing skills.
Our team spent months learning how we could apply the "Kodable DNA" to typing. Too many typing products today are ad-riddled, boring, and uninspired. Today, that changes. We gathered input from educators all over the world and designed our program to be ad-free, school-safe, and loved by kids.

Everyone loves a (typing) vacation!
The Fuzzes and Floofs have been hard at work building their coding and STEM skills and are looking for a little RnR. So they've set sail for the isles of Typetopia! They'll lounge on the sandy shores of Beginner Beach, sail through Level-Up Lagoon, and surf the waves of Champion Cove - all while learning fundamental typing skills.

Kodable Typing focuses on building the right habits first so speed develops naturally, not just forcing repetitive keystrokes to achieve a words per minute number. Learning Through Play – The Kodable Way
At Kodable, we believe students learn best when they’re engaged, so we've built Kodable Typing from the ground up to be as engaging as it is fun.
We've paired a full typing curriculum in our Learn mode with fun, engaging activities that kids can hop in and out of easily in our Practice mode. Have ten minutes at home before soccer practice? Go catch a wave in Wipeout! Need a good practice activity after your students are done with their coding lessons in Kodable Basics? Have your students catch some fish with Kevin.
Learn Mode
In Learn mode, students hop in the tiki-kart with Sly and explore the islands of Typetopia. Each course is scaffolded, gradually progressing from individual keys to full words and paragraphs. Every course provides directed instruction for kids to make sure they're progressing appropriately. They're given types on typing techniques and see hand modeling showing proper finger placement for every key.
Beginner Beach

Beginner Beach is where students build their typing foundation. Students practice letters, simple words, spacing, and basic punctuation while building accuracy and muscle memory. They learn home row placement, proper posture, and begin adding new keys step by step.
Level-Up Lagoon

Level-Up Lagoon moves students from letters to full words and sentences. They practice capitalization, punctuation, and smoother transitions to develop rhythm. The focus shifts to improving accuracy while gradually increasing speed.
Champion Cove

Champion Cove strengthens speed, fluency, and real-world typing skills. Students type full paragraphs, use numbers and symbols, and complete advanced drills that give them skills they can apply in all of their classes.
Practice Mode
Practice Mode is where kids put their new skills into action. They can jump into a number of different typing games that reinforce the skills they're learning in a fun, engaging way.
